How to animate an old photo

OneKlick turns a picture into a short clip: the people blink, breathe and turn their heads a little. Facial features, clothing and background stay as in the photo — we do not add speech or someone else's expressions. If the photo is faded or scratched, restore it first, then animate it.

  1. 01

    Upload a picture

A scan or photo with each side at least 300 pixels works — a portrait, a family or a group picture.

  2. 02

    Wait 1–2 minutes

You can close the tab: the clip waits in My photos for 30 days. If animation fails, your credits are returned.

    Download and send

A 5-second silent MP4 clip — send it in a messenger or post it.

Restore the photo first

What it is good for

  • Animate a portrait of a grandmother or grandfather to show to children and grandchildren.
  • Make a lifelike clip from a family or group picture for a greeting.
  • Show relatives an old photograph in a way that makes them want to look again.
  • Prepare a picture for a social media story or a family chat.

How to prepare the photo

  • Pick a picture where faces are clear: the sharper the faces, the more natural the motion.
  • If the photo is faded or scratched, restore it first, then animate it.
  • Portraits and pictures with one or a few people work best; small faces in a crowd animate worse.
  • Upload a larger file: at least 300 pixels on a side, preferably 1000 or more.

What the service does and does not do

The clip is short and silent: the service adds only gentle motion. It does not make people talk, smile or change their expression, and it does not add people who are not in the picture. The result depends on the source photo: on very small or badly damaged pictures fine details may change slightly, so compare the clip with the original before showing it to relatives.

How it differs from restoration

Restoration fixes the picture itself: it removes scratches and creases and brings colors back. Animation turns a finished picture into a short clip. They are often used together: restore first, then animate.

Your pictures

Upload only photographs you have the right to process. OneKlick keeps the finished clip in My photos for 30 days and then deletes it; you can delete it sooner.

FAQ

How much does it cost to animate a photo?

One clip costs 72 credits. No subscription.

Will the faces stay the same?

We ask only for gentle motion and keep facial features, clothing and background. On small or badly damaged pictures fine details may change slightly — that is why restoring first helps.

Is there sound or speech?

No. The clip is silent: the people do not «talk», they only blink and move slightly.

Which photo works?

A clear picture where faces are visible — a portrait, a family or a group photo. Very small pictures (under 300 pixels on a side) and very elongated ones won't work.
